Faculty and Staff Parking Permits
Employee permits are issued through a work-in-zone system. The system is based on groupings of buildings by designated parking areas. The idea is to match the number of individuals in a building area with their parking requirements. For a given zone, a limited number of permits are sold, so that purchasers are assured of a reasonable chance to park. Permit-to-space ratios vary according to area and relate to commuting habits of distinctive work-groups.
Parking preference is granted to those employees who:
- have a medical disability
- have maternity-related needs
- require daytime mobility
- have irregular work hours or varying job locations
- perform special duties for the university
Paid permits offer different levels of privileges based on parking rate tier. Permits can be paid via payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis.
